I have a particular interest in complex objects such as subcultures, formal organizations, ecosystems, fictional worlds, and cities, and in what it means for such things to act, to hold together, or to fall apart. I study these objects philosophically, working at the intersection of metaphysics and philosophical anthropology. Much of my research is anchored in speculative realism, new materialism, and the philosophical lineage of Gilles Deleuze, Bruno Latour, and Michel Serres.

I am part of the Center for Contemporary European Philosophy (CCEP) at Radboud University, where I teach and supervise in our master’s programs in continental philosophy and in metaphysics and philosophical anthropology. I welcome inquiries from prospective PhD candidates working in related areas.

Beyond the university, I regularly give lectures and workshops for a wide range of audiences. These vary from museums, festivals, bookstores, and schools to entrepreneurs, healthcare institutions, housing corporations, and politicians. Inquiries about lectures and collaborations are always welcome.
